The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the report of an armed robbery that occurred at approximately 12:20 a.m. on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, in the 13000 block of U.S. Highway 90 Boutte, LA.
The victim gave conflicting information regarding the sequence of events leading up to the robbery.
Initially, the victim advised that while pumping gas, he was approached by a black male, who produced a handgun and demanded money; however, during the course of the investigation, the victim admitted that he communicated with an unknown woman via an escort service website, in which he solicited an arrangement for promiscuous activities.
S.C.S.O. detectives learned that while the victim awaited his female escort, an unknown white female in a silver Toyota 4-Runner vehicle arrived at his location. The victim then entered the suspects’ vehicle and began talking to the female.
Shortly thereafter, an unknown black male appeared from the rear cargo area and robbed the victim at gunpoint. The victim stated that the two suspects stole his money and a weapon, which was secured in the victim’s vehicle.
The victim stated that the suspects then fled westbound on U.S. Highway 90 towards Paul Maillard Rd. Boutte, LA. The victim pursued the suspects and rammed his vehicle into their silver Toyota 4-Runner, causing both vehicles to crash into two parked vehicles in a parking lot in the 13500 block of Boutte. The two suspects then fled on foot into a wooded area just west of the crash site.
Two S.C.S.O. canine officers along with several Patrol deputies searched the area for several hours, in an attempt to locate the suspects, but to no avail.
If anyone has any information about the incident, they are asked to contact Detective Josh DeRoche with the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office at (985) 783-6807 or (985) 783-1135.
