The victim has been positively identified as Leroy Houston Jr., a 52-year-old resident of Avondale, LA.

At this point in the investigation, Detectives do not believe this case is related to the incident reported on 12/17/21 in the 100 block of Spruce Street; however, both cases remain under investigation.

The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the found body of deceased male, who was located in a drainage ditch along the railroad tracks just north of 13400 block of Highway 90 in Boutte, LA.

Preliminary findings indicate that the male subject appeared to be clad in a white shirt, and dark colored shorts with no shoes. The body showed no obvious signs of trauma. The subject is possibly in his early 50’s and shows an address in Jefferson Parish; however, his name is being withheld at this time until the family is notified and a proper identification has been made.

The investigation is ongoing and other information will be released as it becomes available. Commuters in the area may see additional Law Enforcement presence throughout the day in the area as the investigation continues.
