Laissez les bon temps brûler – let the good times burn! Bonfire Country is home to Louisiana’s River Parishes’ centuries old holiday tradition. After taking a hiatus in 2020 for the first time in more than 300 years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, world famous Christmas Eve bonfires are back and better than ever for this holiday season.

Bonfire season runs from December 1-24, 2021. The Festival of the Bonfires in St. James Parish will be back December 10-11, leading up to the lighting of the bonfires on the Mississippi River levee on December 24.
