St. James Parish released information regarding what types of restoration or recovery work needs a permit. Please see the full list below.
**Please note this is only for the unincorporated areas of the Parish. For permits in municipalities, please contact the Town of Lutcher or Gramercy**
*PERMIT FEES FOR HURRICANE IDA RELATED PERMITS ARE WAIVED.*
If you are in need of a permit or have questions, please email permitting@stjamesla.com or call 225-331-8187. Be sure to include your Name, Address, Phone Number and Work Needed in the email.
Permits REQUIRED for:
• Roof Replacement
• A/C (Mechanical)
• Electrical
• Gas
• Plumbing
• Accessory buildings
• Renovations (Square footage cannot increase)
• Temporary RV Placement
• Mobile Home Placement
• Demolitions
Permits are NOT required for:
• Drywall
• Flooring
• Gutting
• Fencing
• Less than 10% of Shingles
