SCSO reports incidents of theft, burglaries & looting in aftermath of Hurricane Ida

LULING — The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office reports the following reported incidents with thefts, burglaries or looting associated with the aftermath of Hurricane Ida:
On Monday, August 30,
• Deputies responded to a call for service at the Dollar General, Luling reference a report of looting, three arrests were made;
On Tuesday, August 31,
• Deputies responded to a call for service at the Circle K Store in Boutte – reference the door being damaged; later someone was observed exiting the broken door, a representative was able to come out later to secure the door;
On Wednesday, September 1,
• Deputies responded to a call for service in the 300 block of Ash St., Hahnville reference lawn equipment stolen from a shed; pry marks were located on the residence but the suspect(s) didn’t make entry;
• Deputies responded to a call for service Birdies on Smith Street in Hahnville reference glass shattered, cigarettes and alcohol was stolen;
• Deputies responded to a call for service in the 300 block of Longview Dr., Destrehan reference to a stolen generator;
On Thursday, September 2,
• Deputies responded to a call for service in the 100 block of Longview Dr., Destrehan reference to the rear door being busted in, two televisions and a laptop computer was taken;
• Deputies responded to a call for service in the 15900 block of River Rd, Hahnville, reference medication being stolen;
On Friday, September 3,
• Deputies responded to a call for service in the 800 block of Milling Avenue, Luling reference an unknown offender who made forced entry to the residence: a gun, Apple Watch, PlayStation, and other miscellaneous items were taken. Det. & Crime Scene were notified;
• Deputies responded to a call for service in the 100 block of David Court, Luling reference unknown offender made forced entry into the back door of the residence, stole a handgun and ransacked the residence. Det. & Crime Scene were notified.
• Deputies responded to a call for service at 217 Apple Street, Norco at Norco Fresh Market witness observed an unknown subject coming from under the rear rollup doors of the business on August 30th: unknown amounts of alcohol, cigarettes and miscellaneous items were stolen. Det. & Crime Scene were notified.
• Deputies responded to a call for service in the 1100 block of Kinler Street, Luling reference to a front door damaged and entry made into the residence. Det. & Crime Scene were notified.
On Saturday, September 4,
• Deputies responded to a call for service in the 4300 block of Bayou Gauche Rd., Bayou Gauche reference forced entry to the rear slide door & stolen jewelry. Det. & Crime Scene were notified;
• Deputies responded to a call for service at 15226 Hwy 90, Paradis – Birdies –reference the business being looted while the back door left open to dry out, cigarettes, vapes, alcohol & over $25,000 worth of merchandise were stolen;
• Deputies responded to a call for service in the 600 block of Adams Street regarding an auto theft;
• Deputies responded to a call for service in the 200 block of St. Nicholas Street reference an extension cord, gas can with gas & window unit stolen;
On Sunday, September 5,
• Deputies responded to a call for service at Birdies located at 15701 River Road, Hahnville reference to two contractors were together from out of state, had an altercation, and one stabbed the other one. An arrest was made;
• Deputies responded to a call for service in the 200 block of St. Charles Street in Norco reference an unknown offender pried open the front door & made forced entry. Stolen amount of items is unknown at this time. Det. and Crime Scene were notified.
