LUTCHER–St. James Parish Hospital is now partnering with BROC (Baton Rouge Orthopaedic Clinic) Foundation to support Lutcher High School Athletes through an athletic training program. The hospital’s experienced team of physical therapists and movement specialists will work with the BROC team to support the sports medicine needs of students. The BROC Athletic Training Outreach Program supports local schools and athletic programs by facilitating and providing direct services throughout the community in the areas of Athletic Training Outreach and Support, Injury Education, Prevention and Safety, Equipment and Supplies for Injury Treatment, Recovery and Rehabilitation, Concussion Management and Clinical Research in Injury Management. In addition to a sponsorship, St. James Parish Hospital’s therapy team will be engaged in the program and available to share their expertise, tools and knowledge. “We not only want to be there for our community’s kids when they get hurt, but we want to help keep them well too,” said Todd Lambert, DPT, orthopedic program coordinator. Todd and fellow St. James Parish Hospital Therapy Center Physical Therapist Paul Faucheux, DPT, are LHS Alumni and excited to support the school in this capacity. “As physical therapists we are trained as experts in movement and we plan to be there to teach the athletes the best ways to stay safe and healthy,” said Paul. St. James Parish Hospital’s Physical Therapists and movement specialists are eager to kick-off a new season of sports supporting the Bulldogs.
