AOL Council announces Gail Gaudet Award, Family of the Year

This year’s Family of the Year was the family of Luke Abbate. LAPLACE — The Knights of Columbus Ascension of Our Lord Council 9623 recently awarded its annual Gail Gaudet Award to 2021-22 recipient Alyssa Duhe.
This prestigious award was formed by Council 9623 in 2005. It is meant to recognize a special woman, who has gone above and beyond in assistance to the Knights of Columbus Council 9623. The award is named in honor of the late Gail Gaudet, who was always a presence in assisting with the Council’s community projects.
As the winner of this extremely special award, Duhe can further the great work that Gail Gaudet has accomplished for Council 9623.
Council 9623 also recently awarded its Family of the Year Award for 2021. The presentation was held on August 8, after the 9:30 a.m. Sunday Mass at St. Christopher’s Catholic Church in Metairie.
This year’s winner was the family of Luke Abbate.
