Lucille “Lucy” Karm

Lucy, age 97, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, June 20, 2021. She was a native of Michigan, longtime resident of LaPlace, LA, and a current resident of Ponchatoula, LA. Lucy was truly a social butterfly who loved being surrounded by people. She was known as a caregiver and volunteered at church and animal hospital. Lucy loved going on trips with her family, even if it was just to the zoo. She had a knack for baking cookies and sweets, and she took great pride in keeping her house immaculately clean. Lucy was an incredible mother and Grandma who was most happy surrounded by all of her grandchildren. She was an exceptional woman who will be forever missed.

Lucy is survived by her daughters, Karen Karm Peterson (Jim), Judy Ann Ferguson (Scott), Sharon Kay Rogers (Wayne); grandchildren, Lucy Boutte (Christian), Scott Ferguson (Kristen), Wayne Ferguson (Kristen); and 7 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Lester B. Karm; grandson, Jim Rogers; parents, Thomas and Myrtle Gaylord; and numerous siblings.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to The Methodist Children’s Home of Greater New Orleans or The Animal Rescue of New Orleans.
