Ascension, Assumption and St. James Parishes guilty pleas 4-19 to 4-23

During the week of April 19 – April 23, 2021, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.

 Ascension Parish:

 

Ascension Parish had no court news to report this week.

 

Assumption Parish:

 

  1. Jimmy Blanchard, 112 Gary St. Pierre Part, LA., age 61, pled guilty to DWI 3rd Sentencing was deferred to a later date pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation.

 

  1. Randy David, 4498 Hwy 1 Napoleonville, LA., age 66, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. Upon release from incarceration, the defendant is to be placed on 18 months supervised probation.

 

  1. Jared Rivere, 103 Randall St. Pierre Part, LA., age 34, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

 Hector Carranza, 141 Rayne Ct. Morgan City, LA., age 29, pled guilty to Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited Dwelling and was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

 The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Thomas Daigle, and presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Cody Martin.

  

St. James Parish:

 

  1. Roderick Hayes, 229 S Airline Hwy Gramercy, LA., age 37, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 12 months in the parish jail with credit for time served.

 

The above case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Bruce Mohon, and presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge Jason Verdigets.
