St. John Sheriff’s Office offers scholarship

LAPLACE — St. John Parish Sheriff Mike Tregre invites local high school seniors to apply for the Louisiana Sheriffs’ $500 scholarship, which will be awarded to one high school graduating senior in St. John the Baptist Parish.
This program is sponsored by the Louisiana Sheriffs’ Honorary Membership Program to provide assistance to worthy Louisiana students in furthering their education and training.
To be eligible for the scholarship:
- Applicants must be permanent residents of Louisiana and reside in St. John Parish.
- Money must be utilized in higher education within Louisiana.
- Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate student.

Completed applications must be turned in by April 1, 2021 through email, lsascholarship@stjohnsheriff.org, or by mail or in person to:

The selection process is based primarily upon the applicants’ GPA and ACT scores, school involvement, community service and need for financial assistance.
All scholarship winners will be announced by May 1, 2021.
