Students become certified restaurant servers
RESERVE — Four East St. John High School students recently received their certification as a Certified Restaurant Server.
Elisha Mitchell, pictured, Mercedes Davis, Cora Terry and Jemmie Valles received this certification. This credential is a professional designation for successful completion of the START: Restaurant Server (CRS) training program. The program teaches how to perform key tasks, along with general hospitality knowledge and soft skills required to succeed as a food service professional in a frontline position at a restaurant or other type of dining facility and is part of the Hospitality, Tourism, Culinary and Retail pathway. The credential is associated with careers as general and operations managers, market managers, chefs and head cooks, dietitians and nutritionists, food service managers and technicians, supervisors of food prep and serving workers and food scientists and technologists.
