Irene Snyder Burl at age 67, passed away on Tuesday, November 10. She was a native of Mt. Airy, LA.
She was a public school teacher for 44+ years with St. John The Baptist Parish School System. Irene spent her life and career educating families in the public school system. She used her career to inspire, motivate, mentor and shape the lives of all she came in contact with.
Mrs. Burl, as many of her students and colleagues referred to her as, took her children on many educational trips such as: Washington, D.C., Houston, TX, Atlanta, GA, The Hotsauce Factory, Louisiana State Capitol, and many other monumental places.
Irene will be missed by her family, St. John The Baptist Parish School System, St. John the Baptist Parish Community and the entire staff at St. John Alternative School, formerly known as Leon Godchaux Jr. High School and St. John Success Academy.
Irene is the mother of Chanda Snyder, Albert “Ali”, Abdul and Akeem Burl. Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date.
