LAPLACE — Friday night football saw a great start for two St. John the Baptist teams dominating the field.

West St. John’s defense kept the intensity going throughout the season opener Friday night, ending with a 44-0 shutout over Lusher.

The Rams will travel to face Plaquemine on Oct. 9.

Meanwhile, St. Charles Catholic hosted Slidell Friday in the 2020 football season opener and ended the night with a 17-0 shutout victory.
