The coronavirus has accomplished one positive thing in my life. As Jeanne and I stay home most of the time, we have the opportunity to talk about what’s going on in our country and community.
Last week, as we discussed the condition in America and with the presidential election only a few months away, we realized that it’s the most important election in our lifetime. It’s possible that the America we grew up in and enjoyed may be gone forever. We agreed that it would be a tragedy to us and especially our family.
What about our once great country? Despite my negative thinking, I believe that regardless of what happens to America, my family will be okay.
I remember the following prayer I read in 2014 and repeated often. “Father, I receive and declare Your favor in my life today. I am the righteousness of God and I am entitled to covenant kindness and covenant favor. I thank You for Your favor surrounding me like a shield everywhere I go, in everything I do, and with everyone I meet. I expect good things to happen in my life because Your divine favor is upon me. Your favor in my life is immeasurable, limitless and profusely abounds towards me.”
I’m a positive person and believe in a positive God. Be assured that I consider the virus a serious problem, but I feel we’ve been given some information that is not accurate and keeps a lot of people in bondage to fear.
During the Second World War, one of President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s most powerful messages was, “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.”
I’m reminded that Jesus came to set us free.
