No change from Saturday to Sunday in COVID-19 cases

LAPLACE — There were 801 of reported COVID-19 cases and 76 deaths in St. John the Baptist Parish on Sunday, according to the Louisiana Department of Health. There were no increases since Saturday’s report.
St. Charles Parish has 594 reported cases and 43 deaths, while St. James has 257 reported cases and 20 deaths.
Statewide, there are 31,600 confirmed cases of COVID-19 across all 64 parishes. This marks an increase of 183 cases since yesterday’s report.
There were 2,213 deaths statewide as of Saturday, which was an increase of 19 since Friday’s report. The first death in the state was reported on March 14.
According to the Louisiana Department of Health, there are 1,324 COVID-19 patients in hospitals across the state. Of these patients, 161 are on ventilators.
The state is now reporting that 20,316 people who have tested positive are presumed to have recovered as of May 2.

Governor John Bel Edwards has extended his Stay at Home order for Louisiana residents through May 15.
