LAPLACE – While the St. John Council on Aging buildings remain closed to the public, employees are actively working to deliver lunches to seniors on the current meal route.
Lunches are also being delivered to seniors who attended the Council on Aging Senior Center on a daily or weekly basis. Assessments to add seniors to the current meal route will take place after the threat of the coronavirus is over.
Seniors are encouraged to stay home and stay safe until life returns to normal. Recognizing that some medical trips are necessary to ensure health, the Council on Aging is continuing to offer transportation to dialysis and doctor’s visits.
Any senior receiving services now in need of medicine or groceries can call the Council on Aging from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. to arrange pick-up and delivery if a family member is not available to help. Please call 985-479-0272 for more information.
