Tuesday update: St. John records 758 COVID-19 cases

LAPLACE — As of the Tuesday update from the Louisiana Department of Health, there have been 758 reported cases of COVID-19 and 66 deaths in St. John the Baptist Parish.
On Monday, there were 751 recorded cases and 64 deaths in St. John Parish.
St. Charles Parish has 554 reported cases and 37 deaths, while St. James has 240 reported cases and 19 deaths.
Statewide, there are 27,286 confirmed cases of COVID-19 across all 64 parishes. This marks an increase of 218 cases since yesterday’s report.
There have been 1,758 deaths statewide, which is an increase of 61 since Monday’s report. The first death in the state was reported on March 14.
According to the Louisiana Department of Health, there are 1,666 COVID-19 patients in hospitals across the state. Of these patients, 244 are on ventilators.
The state is now reporting that 17,303 people who have tested positive are presumed to have recovered as of April 27.

Edwards has extended his Stay at Home order for Louisiana residents through May 15.
