St. John COVID-19 cases continue to increase

At the daily noon update, The Louisiana Department of Health (LDH), confirmed 54 total cases in St. John Parish and 3 deaths.

The number is expected to increase as testing increases over the upcoming week. However, now more than ever, it important to  continue to practice social distancing and stay home to slow the spread.

St. John Parish government remains operational during normal business hours Monday – Friday and residents can contact the Parish for assistance by dialing 985-652-9569 or emailing info@stjohn-la.gov.

Weekend Reminders – Residents should stay home except for essentials and continue to follow LDH and CDC recommendations including:
Clean your hands often using soap and water and wash for at least 20 seconds; if water and soap isn’t available, use hand sanitizers should contain at least 60% alcohol.
Cover your mouth or nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze, or cough and sneeze into your upper arm, not your hands.
Clean frequently touched surfaces with regular household cleaning sprays or wipes.
Do not gather in groups.
Practice social distancing at all times.
