In Matthew Chapter 6, Jesus gave us the most beautiful and popular prayer, “The Our Father.”

Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done

On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors,

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:

For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

I always question how anyone could possibly experience heaven on the way to heaven.

The Bible describes heaven as the Throne of God – no more pain, tears, suffering, or death.

The kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit,” Romans 14:17.

As Christians, we have the King of heaven living in our hearts. We have the Bible (the Word of God) to keep us focused and the Holy Spirit as the power to keep us from temptation.

Yes, with Jesus in our hearts, we can experience heaven on the way to heaven.

For Christmas, my son Matt gave me “Your Daily Journal with God,” written by Dr. David Jeremiah. The message for Feb. 9 opened my heart to experience heaven on the way to heaven.

The instructions for enjoying heaven while on earth sounds so simple. The problem is, being human, we can easily lose focus and drift to the things of the world. That’s why Jesus said we shouldn’t fret about tomorrow. It’s a reminder to live one day at a time.

If we have Jesus in our hearts, focus on God’s Word, and rely on the Holy Spirit for our power, every day can be like heaven on earth.
