Investigation into Edgard shooting is ongoing

Update (12/24/19): Marcus Isom, 34, of Edgard has been arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated second degree battery and illegal use of weapons.
EDGARD — Detectives are investigating a shooting that occurred during a private party Saturday, December 21, 2019 at West St. John Elementary School in Edgard.
Around 11:30 p.m., deputies responded to West St. John Elementary on River Road in reference to a shooting with multiple victims.
Upon arrival, officers learned four people were shot, all of whom were transported to a local hospital. Three were treated and released, and one remains in critical condition.
Officers also discovered five vehicles had been struck by multiple bullets.
According to Sheriff Mike Tregre, plenty of citizens witnessed the shooting, but no one has come forward with any assistance at all. No motive is known at this time, and no arrests have been made.
