LULING — Experience the magic of Tchaikovsky’s classic Christmas ballet brought to life by more than 105 local performers in River Region Ballet’s 2019 production of The Nutcracker.

The youngest performer this year is only 3 years old, according to organizers.

Full performances will take place at 7:30 p.m. Saturday (Dec. 14) and at 2 p.m. Sunday (Dec. 15) at the Dr. Rodney Lafon Performing Arts Center, located at 275 Judge Edward Dufresne Parkway in Luling. The Sugar Plum Party, a one-hour performance perfect for the whole family, will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday.

The Nutcracker concludes the Lafon Center’s 2019 lineup. More shows are slated for the 2020 season. An interactive arts and music experience called “Artrageous” will come to the Lafon Center at 7:30 p.m. January 10. The Artrageous troupe of artists, musicians, singers and dancers will pay tribute to a variety of art forms, pop icons and musical genres.

Voctave, an 11-member a capella group from Central Florida, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 28.
