LULING — St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies Mark Pierre, Malcolm Mayes Becks, Mike Herholz and Ty Hebert were among 29 graduates of the Peace Officer Standards and Training program (POST) conducted by the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Training Academy in Luling.

The 15-week program included training in firearms, physical fitness, Louisiana criminal and traffic law, writing reports, conducting interrogations and general investigative techniques.

Mayes Becks also won the shooting award.
