LAPLACE — Ascension of Our Lord Church presents Jane Trufant Harvey at 6:30 p.m. following the 6 p.m. Mass on Oct. 23. The event will be in the church located at 1900 Greenwood Dr. in LaPlace.

Harvey is a motivational speaker and author of the “Ask Him” books and “Jump Start with Jane@thedailymass.com.”

Among the books written are “Ask Him for Courage with Cancer”, which touches on cancer coming uninvited and altering lives. Cancer altered Harvey’s life and stole things from her, irreplaceable things, causing her   to figure out how to turn everything that was upside down and inside out, back to normal. As a result of what she learned, she wrote “Ask Him for Courage With Cancer” so all will know with absolute certainty that cancer does not have all the power. God is the most powerful ally in this battle.

The topic of the evening is “Finding Your Inner Warrior.”

Light refreshments will be served in the Church following the presentation.
