Destrehan Plantation’s 47th Annual Fall Festival takes place Nov. 9 & 10

DESTREHAN — Destrehan Plantation’s 47th Annual Fall Festival located at 13034 River Road in Destrehan opens from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 9, and Sunday, Nov. 10, 2019 on the plantation grounds. Admission for a full day is $8 per adult or teen and children 12 years and under get in free.

This year’s festival has over 100 arts and crafts vendors including 30 who are new to this event. Craft vendors showcase their talent and sell their handcrafted items such as exotic woodwork, scented candles, original jewelry, Louisiana themed prints, canvas paintings, and exclusive houseware items. The mule barn promises to captivate the antique collector with distinctive pieces from antique dealers throughout Louisiana.

Cajun and creole food lovers can dine in the picnic area while enjoying live entertainment from Ryan Foret & Foret Tradition, Saturday, Nov. 9 from noon to 3 p.m. and Groovy 7, Sunday, noon to 3 p.m.

Historical interpreters provide tours of the plantation home throughout the day for an additional

$5 per person. Craft artisans demonstrate trades and domestic duties utilized in the early 1800’s.

Children’s activities include pony rides, face painting and interactive games.
