Rotary Club of St. Charles hosts 40th annual Alligator Festival

LULING — The Rotary Club of St. Charles Parish’s 40th annual Alligator Festival will take place at the Westbank Bridge Park in Luling, Sept. 26-29. The festival is the primary fundraiser that funds the Rotary Club of St. Charles Parish’s college scholarships for local youth.
“Bring your appetite! We will have a variety of alligator delicacies and other traditional cajun cuisine and festival foods,” said Kelsey Pollock Rotary Club Public Relations Chair. “Your kids can enjoy the carnivals rides and hold baby alligators, while you enjoy the craft vendors and live music all weekend long. New to this year’s festival, a dunking booth with celebrity guests featuring The Cajun Ninja, DJ Rhett, Meteorologist Dave Nussbaum, and other St. Charles Parish familiar faces. This year’s winning poster artist is Don Stewart. According to Stewart, Barry Guillot’s Wetland Watchers group was the inspiration behind the composite drawing. The alligator is comprised of over 100 Louisiana items suggested by the group of students. More information about the Alligator Festival can be found at www.alligatorfestival.org.
