RESERVE — Improvements are underway at the St. John Theatre in Reserve! Approximately $76,836 in improvements will take place in the upcoming weeks including an overhaul of the roof, bathrooms, siding and other interior and exterior.

According to St. John Parish administration, the project is funded through the Louisiana Assistance Program. The program is a division of State Administration that allocates funding for local capital projects under a certain dollar amount.

The historic St. John Theatre facility was constructed in 1931 and previously known as the Maurin Theatre.

In other St. John Theatre news, nationally acclaimed Eagles tribute band Already Gone will perform at 7 p.m. August 24. After years of playing in original bands that went nowhere, this five-piece country rock band found inspiration again while performing the Eagles’ greatest hits.

After ten years, the band began writing songs again in the style of bands they’d loved from the 60s and 70s, including The Eagles, The Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, Crosby, Stills and Nash & Young.

Tickets are $25 and available online at stjohntheatre.com. Seats are going quickly, so early reservations are strongly recommended. For more information, please call 504-676-4700.
