LAPLACE – Robert “Robby” Arcuri announced his candidacy for St. John Parish Councilman District 5.
“I am a life long resident of St. John Parish and have lived in District 5 for 55 years.
“My wife Jenny and I have been married for 39 years and have two grown children and three grandchildren.
“I graduated from De La Salle High School and studied at LSU for two and a half years. In 1976, I started working for Shell Oil Company and held various positions in the Maintenance Department, including Instrument/Electrical Foreman, Turnaround Planner/Coordinator and Maintenance Planner Supervisor the last four years of my career. I retired from Shell/Motiva in 2016. I have been a member of the St. John Parish Utility Board representing District 5 for the last two years.
I would be honored to serve the residents of Dis”trict 5 and look forward to working with fellow members of the council and the Parish President to improve our infrastructure and vital services. I believe that our drainage canals and connecting arteries have been neglected for too long. We must get these vital waterways in good shape before our West Shore protection levee is built. We need to get the water to the pumps that the Corps of Engineers will build in order to drain the Parish efficiently. We have many other issues that the Parish faces, but I believe that with my experience working in the oil industry, I can make informed decisions to help our Parish move in the right direction.
I humbly ask for your vote in the upcoming election and look forward to speaking to the residents of District 5.
