Duhe’-Griffin running for Parish Council District 4

LAPLACE — Tyra Duhe’-Griffin announces her candidacy for St. John the Baptist Council, District 4.
Duhe’-Griffin has deep roots in the parish: she was born and reared in St. John the Baptist, she graduated from East St. John High School in 1999, and she has been a teacher with St. John the Baptist Parish Schools since 2007.
Duhe’-Griffin holds a BS in Computer Science from Southern University and a Masters of Education from Concordia University. She is a current member of the Louisiana Association of Educators and formerly served as a member of the SJBP Recreation Advisory Board, which promotes sports and safety in St. John the Baptist Parish parks & recreations.
The daughter of the late Henry (Tripe) Duhe’ of Garyville, and Justin and Elmira Lopez, of LaPlace, Duhe’-Griffin is married to Jamaal Griffin, with whom she has four children.
Duhe’-Griffin’s bid to serve the residents of District 4 is informed by her tireless dedication to the people of St. John the Baptist Parish, especially the youth; her commitment to public service, and her desire to strengthen the neighborhoods that comprise District 4 and the entire St. John the Baptist Parish.
