Sheriff’s Office postpones Kids Fishing Camp because of rising water

NORCO — Due to the Mississippi River constantly rising, resulting in the Bonnet Carre Spillway flooding and the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers contemplating re-opening the locks, the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office is forced to postpone its Kids Fishing Camp.
The event was scheduled for May 11.
The Fishing Camp will be re-scheduled after the water recedes and the Spillway is once again accessible.
Information on the new date will be made public as soon as it is established.
Children and families that have previously registered for camp are not required to re-register once the new date is determined.
