OLLA — The second round of playoffs signaled the end of West St. John’s baseball season for the third consecutive year as No. 3 LaSalle overpowered the No. 14 Rams 11-1 Monday night.
West St. John coach Greg “Buck” Joseph said mental errors and missed opportunities at bat lingered throughout the game.
Jaydon Hamilton, D’Andre Gaudia and Niko Roy each had base hits for the Rams.
Despite the loss, Joseph said pitcher Wantrell Williams gave a “gutsy” performance.
“We didn’t play well mentally,” Joseph said. “We didn’t hit the ball as well as we could have. We had a good baseball season. We just can’t get away from that inevitable second round.”
The Rams end the season 9-11.
