LAPLACE — Karl Jackson stopped by L’Observateur in LaPlace this week to collect his $100 cash winnings.

The LaPlace resident and St. John the Baptist Parish native won March’s “Read and Win $100” contest sponsored by Frenier Landing Restaurant and Oyster Bar.

Karl said he reads each edition, changing the store or box he buys them from on the day.

Those still interested in playing — and more importantly, winning — are in luck.

Frenier Landing is again sponsoring the contest for April. However, the reader appreciation events jumps to a $125 prize.
