The Ascension of Our Lord, Council 9623 cooking team participated in The New Orleans Diocesan Sponsored Gumbo Cook- off competition Oct. 20 at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic School, winning first place. The team now heads to the state cook-off competition on Grand Knights Day Jan. 26.
