The St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office joined forces with residents last week for the annual National Night Out Against Crime Oct. 16.

The event was a big success, Sheriff Mike Tregre said, with officers attending 35 parties on the East and West Bank.

Tregre and fellow officers visited with many residents for this special event to show criminals the community and law enforcement are working together to fight crime in local neighborhoods.

Officers, SJSO characters McGruff the Crime Dog, Darren the DARE Lion and See-More the Bear entertained children and adults.

The SJSO’s Super Heroes – Superman, Supergirl, Spider Man, Bat Man, Wonder Woman, Black Panther and Shuri – also came together with residents to show solidarity against crime.
