Cypress used from existing swamp area to rebuild Godchaux-Reserve House

Stephen Guidry puts donated Cypress trees through a portable mill to create the lumber needed for the old Godchaux House renovation in Reserve.

RESERVE — As a company worked through the swamp area, several trees had to be cut down in the process.

Stephen Guidry President of the Godchaux-Reserve House Historical Society, asked the company to give his group the opportunity to collect the Cypress trees that were cut down.

Guidry and friends removed the Cypress from the former Godchaux swamp lands and milled the fresh Cypress lumber for the restoration.
