Six SJSO deputies complete 18-week training

THIBODAUX — Six St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were among 31 graduates of the Peace Officer Standards and Training program (POST) Class 106 conducted by the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Training Academy in Thibodaux.

The 18-week program included training in firearms, physical fitness, Louisiana criminal and traffic law, writing reports, conducting interrogations and general investigative techniques.

POST graduation was celebrated at the Moses Community Center in Thibodaux.

Deputies Phifer Butler, Kristin Chenier, Damian Dinet, Sadie Harper, Ernesteayo Lee and Ida Mathews-White were recognized as certified Peace Officers during POST graduation at the Moses Community Center in Thibodaux.

Chenier was presented the Academic Excellence Award.

Dinet was honored with the Commitment to Excellence Award.
