CONVENT — A River Parishes man faces five years in jail following a drug seizure at a Gramercy residence last spring.
Crondell Flowers of Luling, 42, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute a schedule I controlled dangerous substance on Monday, with Judge Tess Stromberg sentencing him to five years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
The guilty plea, according to District Attorney Ricky L. Babin’s office, is the result of a plea agreement with prosecutors following an April narcotics investigation in St. James Parish.
On April 24, narcotics agents with the St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a Gramercy residence in which Flowers had been residing as part of an on-going narcotics investigation.
During a search of the home, agents located a quantity of plastic baggies containing heroin individually wrapped and packaged for sale.
Agents also located items commonly associated with drug dealing.
Flowers was subsequently arrested and booked into the St. James Parish Jail.
