LAPLACE — St. John the Baptist Parish announced this morning that the Krewe Du Monde Parade start has been backed up an hour to noon today (Feb. 11), pending weather concerns.
The move was made to allow for a possible break in rainfall. The decision was made by St. John Parish Officials and the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office in conjunction a Krewe Du Monde representative.
Thunderstorms are expected to develop across the area this morning and into the evening as a result of a cold front moving across the region.
According to parish officials, residents should use caution when going outside and when on roads. The St. John Parish Emergency Operations Center is monitoring weather forecasts for any changes.
