Reserve man arrested, charged with home-invasion rape of LaPlace woman

RESERVE — A local man was arrested last week, charged with the home invasion and rape of a LaPlace woman, police said. Larry Dillon Jr., 41, of Reserve was arrested Friday in connection to the assault, which victimized a 53-year-old woman, according to police.
Dillon was arrested at his home and booked with felony home invasion, sexual battery – forcible fondling and first degree rape, along with a parole hold. He is being held in custody in lieu of a $115,000 bond.
According to the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office, a female was assaulted between 3 and 4 a.m. Sept. 18 in the 1400 block of Delta Road in LaPlace.
The victim told officers the perpetrator entered the residence, demanded money and forced her to have sexual intercourse with him.
The victim, who was alone at the time of the sexual assault, was initially hospitalized but has since been released, police said.
Detectives said the perpetrator fled the residence with an undisclosed amount of money following the assault. Through investigation, according to a release from the Sheriff’s Office, detectives developed Dillon as a suspect and arrested him last week.
