LAPLACE — Three generations of LaPlace women used a stolen bank card to illegally buy cigarettes, gas and pizza, authorities said.
Genea Zeno, 43; Nora Zeno, 62; and D’Ajelea Zeno, 18, were arrested Thursday after the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office developed the trio as suspects linked to the left and fraudulent use of a bank card March 25.
A 50-year-old victim told authorities she left her card in the chip reader at a self-checkout register at a LaPlace store.
After that purchase, records of the card’s use showed it was used March 25 at three locations in LaPlace for a total of amount of $90.36.
Authorities said the bank card was found in Genea’s possession, leading to a possession of stolen property misdemeanor charge. Nora is believed to have purchased cigarettes and gasoline with the card, leading to a misdemeanor unauthorized use of an “access card” as theft charge.
Police said D’Ajelea “purchased pizza with the bank card and signed the bank card owner’s name on the charge slip,” leading to misdemeanor unauthorized use of an access card and felony forgery charges.
All three suspects posted bond and were released from custody.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the suspects share a daughter, mother, grandmother relationship and each list a Shawdowbrook Lane address in LaPlace.
