LAPLACE — A group of West St. John High School students attempting to raise funds to allow them to attend the annual Close Up Foundation visit to Washington, D.C., will hold a fundraising luncheon next week.

The Youth Expecting Success (Y.E.S.) We Can community and business luncheon will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at New Wine Christian Fellowship Church, 1929 W. Airline Highway in LaPlace.

The event will include a silent auction, raffle and door prizes. Food will be donated by Carrabba’s Italian Grill.

Tickets are $15 and may be ordered through Trenice Cooper at 504-931-5441 or pay at the door.

All proceeds will go to help fund the trip.
