LAPLACE — A St. John the Baptist Parish man was found dead this morning (Feb. 15), believed killed from multiple gunshot wounds, authorities said.

St. John Sheriff Mike Tregre said a visitor found the victim, identified as 29-year-old Andrew Jasmine of LaPlace, at approximately 8:30 a.m. dead in his home.

An autopsy is pending, Tregre said.

Authorities are not releasing a potential motive for the killing at this time and are working to develop suspect information.

The victim’s home is located in the 2000 block of East Frisco Drive in LaPlace.
