John Harold Maurin passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2017.

He was 88, a native of Reserve and a resident of LaPlace.

John was the beloved son of the late Leona McHugh and Fortune Maurin Jr.; brother of McHugh Maurin, Richard “Dickie” Maurin, Sarah Duhe, Susan Maurin and the late Marian Coffee, Elsie Lasseigne, Mildred Young, Constance Shaver and Fortune H. Maurin III.

He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. He graduated from LSU, served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, worked for Shell Oil and retired from Dupont.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Peter Catholic Church, 1550 Highway 44 in Reserve on Monday, Feb. 6 at 11 a.m.

Visitation at the church is from 9 to 11 a.m.

Interment is in St. Peter Cemetery.
