EDGARD — A local man is facing a multi-year prison sentence after pleading guilty last week to drug dealing.
According to the St. John the Baptist Parish Clerk of Court’s office, Cory Hebert of LaPlace pleaded guilty Jan. 9 to distribution/possession with intent to distribute CDS – II.
The plea was part of an agreement with the District Attorney’s Office. Hebert, 36, was sentenced to serve eight years with the Department of Corrections, two of which are to be served without benefit of probation, parole or suspended sentence.
He was given credit for time served since April 9, 2015.
According to local authorities, Hebert’s arrest stemmed from a Louisiana Attorney General’s Office investigation that included the illegal sales of Roxicodone and Percocet.
