LAPLACE — The St. John the Baptist Parish Utilities Department announced late Wednesday night the Parish lifted wastewater conservation measures for LaPlace residents.

Repairs to the LaPlace Lift Station are complete and normal water usage activities can resume.

The drinking water system was NOT impacted during this time, Parish officials said, adding water consumption is safe.

“Thank you for your cooperation during this unforeseen event,” a Parish release said.

Parish officials announced midday Wednesday they located a break in a force main at the LaPlace Wastewater Lift Station near the Percy Hebert Building.

Utilities and Fleming Construction worked to repair the break.
