As a community service project, East St. John Elementary School homeroom classes prepared baskets filled with supplies for the elderly.
“It made my day to make other people smile,” eighth grader Kiron Winston said.
“I feel like I made their day too. It was a great feeling.”
Select students presented the baskets and sang Christmas carols at Twin Oaks Nursing Home. Organizers said this was a great way of showing concern for others and compassion by helping others enjoy the holiday season.
The students truly enjoyed the time spent with the residents of Twin Oaks Nursing and Convalescent Home and Maison Oaks Assisted Living.
