LAPLACE — The 43-member Dance Company of Performing Arts Dance Center recently won the Top Studio award at Kids Artistic Review dance competition.

Company members had a summer convention at the studio that consisted of Master Classes with Rosero McCoy, Brent Oplotnik, Maryann DeAngelos and Derek Reese.

The Dance Company performed at the Andouille Festival and the St. Joan of Arc Fair.

They attended four regional dance competitions, where they won overall high score awards, most entertaining, special judges awards, Double Platinums, Platinums, Elite Top 1st awards and many more.

Many of the Dance Company members won invitations to attend classes in New York.

These award-winning dances can be seen at the Performing Arts Dance Center’s 19th annual dance recital May 28 at Mahalia Jackson Theatre of Performing Arts.

Traci Marchetta is the owner and director of Performing Arts Dance Center, and the Dance Company choreographer is Ashlee Brister.
