WSJ boys, RA girls top area track

HARVEY — The West St. John boys finished second and the Riverside Academy girls finished third in the District 10-2A track meet Monday at Hoss Memtsas Stadium.
East St. John’s girls finished fourth and the boys finished fifth at the District 7-5A meet Thursday in Thibodaux. The top four finishers in each event now qualify for next week’s regionals.
West St. John’s KieAve Harry won the boys 100 and 200 meter runs. Marcus Boudoin won both hurdling events. Lamore Boudoin won the long jump.
Among the girls, Jasmine Simon won the 100 meter hurdles and Amiya Lumar won the 300 meter hurdles. Nazei Breaux won the girls triple jump, Christina Holmes won the shot put.
Riverside’s Jalen Banks won the 400 meters. JaJuan Bell won the triple jump, Curtis Laborde won the discus. The boys also won the 800 and 1600 meter relays.Toni Perrin won the girls 100 and 200 meter runs and the long jump.
St. Charles’ boys won the 400 meter relay. Tyrin Arceneaux won the shot put and Patrick Ratliff won the javelin.
East St. John’s Da’Monte Coxie was named the Boys Field MVP at the 7-5A meet. He won the boys long jump and was second in the triple jump.
