A candlelight vigil was held at the gazebo in front of John L. Ory Communications Magnet School Wednesday to honor the life of Tamara Holland, a science teacher at the school who recently died after a long battle with cancer at the age of 40. Family members, including Holland’s mother, Doris Jackson, along with her daughter, Dyhne McKinley, faculty and students from the past and present were in attendance. Touching words were spoken by many people whose lives Holland touched over the years.
