- Nov. 23 1972: Miss Annrose Guarino, new Reserve Junior Miss, poses with parents Mr. and Mrs. Russel P. Guarino of LaPlace after winning the title, which was sponsored by the Reserve Jaycees. Guarino went on to represent St. John the Baptist Parish in the Louisiana Junior Miss. Pageant in Houma.
Nov. 24 1988: Kindergartner Terrance Cola of Garyville Elementary won first place in the parishwide American Educational Week poster competition. Terrance shows off his winning poster entry.
