Invest in Chamber, invest in region

Aaron Cancienne joined the River Region Chamber of Commerce because he wanted to help build the local business community and make his local region a better place to live and work.
Cancienne, who has served as the Chamber’s treasurer since 2013, says the River Parishes community organization offers networking, business and professional development opportunities while serving as the voice of the community and staying abreast of legislation and emerging issues that impact local businesses.
“It also gives members the opportunity to get involved and make a difference in our community by serving on one of several Chamber committees,” Cancienne said, via release from the Chamber.
It seems now Chamber members are also making contributions to cement the organization as a regional player for years to come.
The Chamber announced this month its capital campaign reached one-third of its goal to raise $450,000 for its new building and improvements. The campaign began in February and continues through the year.
Located at 390 Belle Terre Blvd. in LaPlace, Chamber leaders are correct in saying the new building projects a proper and positive image to residents and visitors, reflecting a mission to “Grow, Strengthen and Unify” the River Parishes. The facility provides an easy-to-reach location for elected officials and business representatives to visit for presentations, advice and share ideas.
With positive results and tangible signs of improvement, area business interests should feel encouraged to contribute to the Chamber’s capital campaign. Anyone looking for more information can contact Chassity McComack at 985-359-9777 or visit riverregionchamber.org.
Cancienne said as the community grows, the Chamber must, as well.
“The Chamber’s new office is also regularly utilized for professional development seminars and community meetings,” he said.
“By investing in the Chamber, you are investing in the future of our community.”
